I think we should call child services on this monster..
Sarcasm there pattar?
Because people are willingly doing something out of choice....

Amazing how people will overlook the basic fact travel ball is a choice.
Still there are folks who want to tell others what team is best for them.
imo
Its best for people to find a team to match their own childs and family goals.
And zero reason to complain about what other people choose and enjoy!

Nobody should force kids to play ball, key word being "play". That said this whole let kids be kids thing cracks me up nowadays..for all of my friends growing up "being kids" meant....you guessed it, playing ball all day. The horror, the shock..

The other thing I am going to add to this is the same thing that is said about burning a kid out with sports can be said about school when they dump hours of mindless HW on kids..you want your kid to be enthusiastic about learning when they are 20,25,30, etc..

Why players quit softball is a variety of reasons.

My DD practiced 3 hours on the 6th and played 4 games on the 7th. The team is off 13th and 14th. She hasn't touch a ball or bat since the 7th and wont again until the Tuesday the 16th. This will be her longest break in quite some time.
Her normal schedule is Monday and Wed. strength and speed (1 hour each day). Tuesday and Thursday or Friday at the fields with dear ole dad for an hour or so. Either Thursday or Friday is off (flexible). Saturday and Sunday games or practice.
She knows her schedule. She keeps it without complaint. Come Sunday she is in the 2 hole.
That being said, not all players/parents put in the extra work and then complain about Jenny's playing time. What's a coach to do?

Do you think young players can inspire other young players?

Not sure what age your athlete is.
Some might say that schedule is excessive.

Others will say
I want to do that to!
She is 1st year 14U.

Playing on a pretty good team and this is what all the other kids are doing. So yes, she got the inspiration from her team mates because that is what she is going to have to do to be playing on Sundays.

The schedule is excessive, but it's her choice. We have had many talks about playing for lower level teams.

She said every day. Yours hit 3 days a week. That's great. Mine do 4. But forcing it to be every day? Nope, we'd leave the team.
Thats what my daughters already do on their own.
They each go to hittings lessons. One also has pitching lessons. Teams all require attendance to speed agility as a group. We look for highly facilitated teams and coaches to meet our criteria.
We are not forced to.

This is how I read it. If you are already doing work 5 times a week outside of practice, you set up your phone and video it, send it to coach and say hey Coach look how hard I am working please play me..Then you get on twitter/FB post it with #Iworksohard and tag coach Gasso/Perez/White/etc/etc
I choked when I read this .... #Iworksohard and tag coach Gasso/Perez/White/etc/etc

What are the DFP comments about this.
A 12U travel team that players need to mandatory
Upload DAILY video of workouts they do on their own time
on a team only web access.

its a requirement.
yes, it can affect playing time.

(Daily, on own time =
non team practice/game days)
Clearly more about the Coach than the players. At 12-U, instruction, competition, and fun!

Yes good planing on the coaches part. That helps the coach develop and field a team because its for the players. The players development!

Clearly some folks on dfp have overlooked/ missed the point...
The players are thriving and interacting via the website.
They are encouraged by eachothers workouts adding to their team goal!!
They also see it as being a part of something!!!

Will say about some of the posts here.
There is a BIG difference between what some people expressed they would not do
1. Because a poster simply thinks its a waste of time.
2. This is for the coach.
3. Does coach even look at video.
4. its a PITA to do - pain in the azz...aka your lazy.
5. The girls are being forced.

No

Actually the reality is the team and players are doing VERY GOOD.

Because its a decision every family made to play for this outstanding coaching staff.
Having a fantastic fastpitch travel experience!

Heres another tid bit people on dfp are overlooking
( i actually commented on earlier)
This younger ( than us) generation it is NORMAL to upload little video snipits.
In fact most of these players are still on ZOOM school.
Guess what on the computor seeing their classmates daily.
On the computor doing home school, some with no classmates.
They are part of the tik tok generation.
This is NOT strange or awkawrd in any way to these players.

It is also helping the parents with staying on track and focused with their children!

You can have your's opinion folks. Of what you would like to do or not.
But terrible to not take into consideration no-one is being forced and the fact people are willingly liking doing this!!!!
Just look at the posts here'in
How many on dfp did not ask at all
Do the players like it?
The answer is a BIG YES !!!
Are the players improving?
BIG YES !!!

A positive opportunity to grow.
BIG YES for this team!
