Local D1 school coach has his team swing no higher than a 24oz. His record has been very good since he arrived.

Why are you assuming the team’s record is mainly due to the hitters all using heavier bats?

When dads are involved in the purchase (and they should be), I believe they tend to muscle up on the size of the bat they think their daughter needs. Given the vast majority of players can't consistently make solid contact with the ball in games, I think most are using a bat that is too heavy. And, as I have mentioned, it's been my observation that the vast majority of the time when batters miss hit the ball or flat-out miss the ball, they miss under. While that can be a mechanical issue, I think it is often a bat weight issue.
