We played our sister team yesterday for the championship. They are considered the older 14U team but have yet to beat us. It was a nail biter of a game; final score 2-0. Luck happened to be on our side yesterday. :-)
After the trophy presentation both teams are congratulating each other as...
So in a previous thread I posted my youngest DD would be singing the National Anthem this weekend. Rehearsals were rough last week...I won't lie it was the most nervous I have been for her going into anything she was booked for.
Before going out there I told her I loved her and was so proud...
I just read this and my heart is breaking for her family, friends, teammates and coaches. I cannot even begin to imagine what they are going through but my thoughts and prayers are with them all during this time. A reminder to make every moment count...

Our DD's hitting coach implemented the V-Flex training system with her in the off season. Our DD has had a HUGE improvement at the plate since using the system. No strikeouts, BA, SLG & OBP have more than doubled since going through the training. Apparently it can be used for pitchers too...
We caught the last few innings of last nights game Baylor vs Oklahoma and wow! Our DD really enjoyed watching her pitch and was impressed with her pitching and her commanding presence in the circle.
DD started researching her, lol. Reading her stats, bio. Not only is she a force to be...
Well after forgoing pitching "seriously" for a season due to a lack of need on the previous team we are back at it...again.
Aside from the "swimming" and strange toe drag habit she has, LOL, I think her timing is off.? (She has recently complained about muscle pain near her shoulder blade.)...
DD accepted an offer from a new team in late August. It was a great decision! It has been about a year since we have seen such fire in her. Her confidence is coming back, she looks forward to every practice and can't wait to play more tournaments with these girls.
We had our first tourney...
We recently joined a new organization and several of their coaches advocate hello elbow and pushing the ball. They seem to use HE as the fix for just about everything. We have expressed that DD takes privates lessons and doesn't finish with HE; have even invited them to lessons. We have told...
..you are at a restaurant and the waitress asks if there is a ball game going on 'round here because they have been busier than usual. My response was "No, not that I know of. We aren't from this town". My DD pipes up and states, "Uh-huh mom. The Yankees are playing the White Sox right now".
One of the benefits of being a parent of a TB player is we travel to destinations we may otherwise not visit. We try to maintain some anonymity but I thought it would be cool to share some pics of the places we have been.
This summer we visited Assauteague Island National Seashore.
Not softball, but I thought this was a creative way to manufacture an out. It was funny listening to the commentators try to figure out what happened and why Uribe was out.

My DD is moving up to 12U this fall. We have been working 12" balls and pitching from 40ft. She is still working on control and hitting her spots more and more. She was practicing last week and asked if she could try from 43ft. She threw more strikes and had more control at 43ft than 40ft and...
When should you ask, or should you ever ask a coach about coaching philosophy, team expectations and guidelines... Before attending tryouts? After your DD is offered a spot? Never? My DH and I cannot seem to agree on this. So some outside feedback is welcomed.
We drove 11 1/2 hours knowing very little about our opponents except they would be talented and competitive. 3-0 in pool play scoring 21 runs and only allowing 3, earning the #2 seed. We were the unknown team from the south drawing spectators and coaches into our bleachers. We came in 5th out of...
So, my youngest is not the most athletic child. But in turn she has a gift most wish we had; she can sing. She performed last night and afterwards she wanted to know if I was going to share her video on the site where I share her sister's videos. I tried to explain how this was geared toward...
I think the title says it pretty well, lol. I had a momentary lack of judgement yesterday and caught my DD with out shin guards and took a pitch to the ankle yesterday during her lesson. She technically hasn't learned to throw a drop ball, but some of her pitches naturally drop. We are moving...
My daughter has fallen in love with the Easton scn1b, we have been looking for one for months and haven't had any luck as we need the 29/19. Is there a bat comparable to the scn1b that may be easier to find? She is a line drive hitter mostly. She has a Xeno and it rarely sees daylight since...
We had two lessons a week ago and will have two more next week. He added two additional drills to left balance and east/west issues. He really motivated her and she has been working hard this past week. Any feedback is welcomed. I apologize for the angle and quality not being the best. Also...
My DD has been pitching a little over a year now. She has pitched in a few games, usually an inning or two. Right now her pitching lacks consistency. Should we continue to make time for lessons and practice? Even though it really frustrates her sometimes she always comes back to "wanna catch...
