The situation will not get better. 1) Take a stand and tell him he is playing daddy ball (politely) 2) Say nothing and by the end of the season you will lose all respect for him because he is doing this and you will leave at end of season 3) Leave now. Any of these three will more than likely end your friendship. This team won't make it through to spring intact if it is this bad, so you could wait and when the team dissolves you could be "released". It's hard to watch this type of stuff very long. Had a similar situation last season, it was horrible. She was undersized, could not hit hard enough to make it past pitcher but she was 3 hole! She could not even throw the ball from second to first without a running start but she was a starter and we lost way more than we should have. She was even o served twirling her hair, looking over center field fence while the ball was being pitched! Still played and it was pointed out to dadddy coach as well.Good luck, been where u are and it isn't fun.

Here is an issue most aren't aware of....or maybe they are. I wasn't :(

I'm not as confident of a bad ending here as most seem to be. I've seen these kinds of 'interventions' work. When all the assistants are in agreement, that's hard for a reasonable person to ignore. Just because a coach can't rate his daughter objectively doesn't mean he's not a reasonable person. Some come by this disease honestly.

The outcome here might depend on why the coach is coaching. Those motives can be well hidden. If it's largely for the benefit of the daughter, then the prognosis is poor. The kind of daddy baller might not even overrate his daughter. He might see that she's mediocre but manage the roster or run practices in such a way that nobody will be able to be unseat her.

But if the coach is coaching for the right reasons, and just has a blind spot, then he'll hear what you have to say and do the right thing.
