We have some great bats on our Varsity HS team. One of our hitters has been on fire this year and is now paying the price at the plate. Nobody will pitch to her. During yesterday's first game she went 1-1 in our first game, and that was a pitch out that they didn't get it out far enough and she reached out and jacked it out over the fence by 30 feet. After that the "pitch out" saga started. Next at bat it was a simple 4 feet outside of the plate, walk on 4 pitches. The next at bat was even further outside. The last at bat the pitcher literally rolled the ball to the catcher. Yes, rolled the ball. Her team mates were still giving her message of confidence and clearly didn't realize that the "roll" was intentional. Our coaches and players were laughing the whole time.
The second game of the double header they had to pitch to her twice because of players on base and she went 2-2 with 2 doubles, one off the fence. Her next at bat they decided to pitch to her, but hit her on the first pitch, intentionally. Needless to say she wasn't happy. The head coach of the opposing team apologized after the game saying it wasn't intentional but that she was working on a screw ball and that it got away from her. Yea, right!
What have you seen for intentional walks?
