There is nothing wrong with a pitcher calling her own pitches, but your posts left me believing she was throwing a curve when the coach called a fastball. Is the agreement between coach and pitcher that he just offers suggestions?
As a coach, I often ask my girls if there is something they think we need to work on or if there is something they'd like to learn. If your coach does this, it is the perfect time for DD to speak up.
If not, I'd have her ask him if she can come a bit early to practice to show him her new pitch and if it would be OK for her to invite the catcher(s) to show up early with her so they all (the coach included) can see her new pitch and work on signs and set up for the catchers.
If her coach is not impressed by that, please send her to my team.
