Juan Soto model A2K arrived today. While it was in transit I considered returning it. My concerns were the handstall and fingers would be too large (my hands are probably on the smaller side of average)and it would feel "heavy." I was ready to spend "a few" extra dollars on a custom A2000.

Much to my surprise, and delight, my wrist and fingers were comfortable and the glove didn't feel like a burden on my hand. Around Easter, I ordered an A2000 from Hibbet. It was on a major sale. It was an A2000 1800. Aesthetically, I didn't love the single post web but I thought I'd give it a shot.

I took it out of the box. My first thought was, "Ugly." I tried it on, it was too large for my hand and it felt like a ten pound hammer. I returned it that day. In my opinion, no wonder the price was so good because it was not good. Seriously, I thought it was trash.

This A2K is easily, the nicest glove I've ever had. Before this one, it was a Rawlings HOH, which I still like. (My glove fetish isn't new but being able to afford them is relatively new.)

Verdict: I'm going to take The W on it and start practicing my outstretched arms and legs when my DD throws me the ball. As a teenager she will certainly be impressed. 😄

Based on looks, I assume a 12-13 year old likes that one best. Looking forward to the final analysis soon!
I checked out the marucci when I got home yesterday. Didn’t have a lot of time as we are doing the camwood bat 30 day program and we had a travel ball meeting for 6:30. Ill mess with them more tonight. The Marucci was extremely stiff. I could barely make it move and I have very good hand strength from competitive pistol shooting. The leather quality seems on par with the others. The Easton is nowhere near as stiff and the leather feels similar if not a bit softer. The wilson seems different than both.

FWIW, I have a Marucci Cypress (adult baseball glove - I coach the boys) and while I love it, it took quite a while to break in.

Just a thought, but for the boys around this age I generally recommend the Oxbow in the Marucci lineup. Have not yet seen the fastpitch Oxbow (my daughter is younger) but would assume it’s similar.
