exactly what do you do if say the pitcher plate is discovered to be at wrong distance in like 4th inning?

Only thing I would add is finish the current inning, so the mistake is at least equal for both teams.

Happened in Rec league. Pitchers plate was at 40' instead of 10U 35'. The whole game before us pitched from that distance and I happened to notice after the 2nd inning. Move on.

All rule sets say fix at discovery, so there is no waiting for 'equal'

Has this happen during a 10u Championship game on Saturday. I usually set up the field. The guy who runs the league did this time. I did not know he just walked it off instead of measuring.

In the top of the first, our pitcher was terrible. Worst inning from a control standpoint all year.

Bottom of the first, I go out there to coach pitch (our 10u is coach pitch after a walk), and I immediately knew the distance was too far. For the rest of the half inning, I moved up a bit and was fine. Measured after the half inning and it was almost 3 1/2 feet too far.

I could have called it out immediately, and if the other team or umpire had said anything I wouldn't have complained about fixing it immediately, but I'm certainly not going to help their pitcher out in that situation.
