Seems like a good time for a rich Big 12 donor to decide to make their school a softball power. They add a few decent schools this season, but don't have OU and Texas to deal with anymore.

A mediocre team with new head coach (named three weeks ago) moving up from a successful mid-major run at Louisiana-Lafayette.

I'd think it would take a TON of money to overcome what teams such as OK, TX, and FL could offer in terms of national title competitiveness. There's plenty of money at those schools as well.

Texas Tech was 23rd in scoring last year, so she'd already be getting way more help than what Stanford (109th) gave her, and she took them to the final 4.

But, to your point, OK/TX/FL were still significantly ahead of Texas Tech.

And #1 in scoring was Miami/OH...wait...what?

Canady will make any team better...probably a conference champion outside of P5. However, the idea of her going to a team with a new HC that placed 8th last season in the Big 12 is a huge stretch. Assuming the new guy is up to the job, it will take him a couple of recruiting years to really get things moving. If, in fact, there's some huge offer, she'd be going ONLY for the money, which she can have AND have a shot at a national championship by going to any of several other schools.

Glasco vs Gasso is primed to be a major watch.
Glasco and Louisiana took down Oklahoma to break their long winning streak this year.

Maybe it's taking so long because she's looking for a Godfather offer that hasn't materialized. She can still go back to Stanford.
