Whats wrong with the swing?

11 year old daughter hasn't been making much contact and when she does it's typically ground outs. She went from hitting bombs in fall to not being able to get good contact. She does make contact on the last pitch in the video but that is very rare.

by no means an expert, and I'm not someone who would suggest big changes, but i'm not seeing much coil. i think it's because she starts too late. start earlier in the windup, with a slow move, then fire.

Seems she has way too much going through her mind right now and is all out of synch. If she likes bombs, suggest doing this.

Take a look at the practice swing she does in between pitches. It shows you where the power went. She is all arms. Your dd needs to learn how to use her body better. Is she going to an instructor? Does her coaching staff do well with the swing?

I agree and would add a bit of sequence problem.

Simple as 'BAT DRAG'............and other things... BAT DRAG.
Aside from that BAT DRAG which needs to be address FIRST....
Barrel path is level to the ball and not down to and up through.

Bigger kids with BAT DRAG will hit 'bombs' against slower pitchers....Not so against faster pitchers...oh my.

Holy 'squish the bug'....
Level swing with round bat.....hit top of bat get fly ball, hit middle get line drive, and hit bottom of bat get ground ball.
Again JMHO others will tell you how wrong I am.........

Wow, is this National Bat Drag day. Holy cow this is bad. The hands are 7-8 inches behind the back elbow here.

Hands should never, ever be behind the back elbow. Ever.

Almost every kid on this site does this. It's worse than the covid epidemic.

Also, most girls open their hips as they go forward to toe touch. This causes much of this. Can someone create a vaccine for this?

Stop going to cages and doing drills, and get in front of a mirror and fix your stride.Try these indivudally until you go to the next step.
1) Close your hips and shoulders 45 deg and hold it until you land
2) Take the back elbow back like pulling a bow back
3) Make sure the back forearm is flat/horizontal at landing (I dont care where it is in the stance, maybe try starting with hands low)
4) Make sure the bat head is pointing roughly up at landing

That's $10,000 of lessons right there for nothing.
