Second scenario:

Runner on 1st. #4 hits ball off of fence in left center gap. R1 rounds 2b and heads for 3b. Hitter heads for 2B and does not break stride. CF throws ball to cut which is aligned with 3B.

How do you score this? Scored as a single and 2nd on the throw. My problem with this is that the throw was to the cutoff and not to 3rd. Sure cutoff was in line with 3b but typically this ball is a double.
I liken this to the SB vs PB/WP situation where the runner gets credit for a SB if they take off with the release of a pitch - before seeing it would otherwise be a WP or PB. If the runner (or 1B coach) was going for 2B before they saw where the throw was headed, they get the double as long as it wasn't due to an error. If they take off after seeing the throw is headed elsewhere, they took 2B on FC.
