Nothing but the the usual suspect.

Can't disagree with ASU as Number 1...

Alabama, the softball team that doesn't like to play teams from west of the Mississippi, is way overrated. Note to the NCAA coaches: Kelsey Dunne graduated, Maybe that is why they don't even have the 2012 roster posted yet...perhaps Dunne can come back for one more year.

Missouri is going to be very, very tough this year. Thomas' experience with the USA National Team will put her over the top. Missouri might be the team to beat.

If Baylor could ever learn to hit, they might be a contender.

Kentucky in the top 25? Give me a break...

And, of course, Notre Dame....the most overrated of all overrated teams in any sport.

Well, at least the Big 10 got two schools in there. That's usually the max anyway. I'm hoping my Gophers surprise some people this year.

ok, Kentucky might be ranked a little high, but those girls are so much fun; I just love to watch them. I think I'd put both Florida and Cal ahead of Alabama. But yeah, it's just a silly preseason poll...

Oops, forgot to say "Go Missouri!"

Missouri is going to be very, very tough this year. Henderson's experience with the USA National Team will put her over the top. Missouri might be the team to beat.

Henderson? Do you mean Chelsea Thomas? Wow, I just looked and noticed they have 10 freshman on the roster and dang, it's a tall bunch of girls. I may not recognize a good chunk of the team the first time I see them this year!

Maybe we can tell something about the health of Kenzie Fowler (U of A) after this weekend. She pitches today against her sister (not pitching) from OK.

I have to agree with your disagreement. I strongly dislike Bama in any sport, not as much as FL but still pretty badly.
I got Two words for ya. Jackie Traina(don't know if I spelled that right) She is a beast in the circle as well as the box!
Tennesse also has an excellent freshman class.
UGA had some major losses but I still like our chances. Go DAWGS!

Results

1. ARIZONA ST (19) (5-2) 497 1 - Dumped 2. Hats off to McNeese St, ASU needs some consistency on offense.
2. ALABAMA (4-0) 438 3 - No surprises here as Bama still doesn't travel west. Next week will be a better test.
3. CALIFORNIA (4-0) 425 5 - No surprises here.
4. FLORIDA (1) (5-0) 420 2 - Got challenged by USF, but their test comes Feb 23rd.
5. MISSOURI (0-0) 411 6 - No games. Their test also comes Feb 23rd.
6. OKLAHOMA (5-0) 408 7 - Rolled at SportCo. A good test next week vs Auburn & Bama, Then Cathedral.
7. BAYLOR (5-1) 372 4 - Dropped one to the Razorbacks. Citrus Classic will really test this team.
8. ARIZONA (3-3) 331 11 - Dumped 3 to GA Tech, Neb and Syracuse. How far will they fall in the polls?
9. TENNESSEE (5-1) 316 16 - Took a beating from Cal, otherwise Weekly's girls looked good.
10. STANFORD (4-1) 314 10 - Beat up on everyone but TX A&M.
11. OREGON (3-2) 252 14 - Dropped games to BYU and New Mexico each by a run. No rest for them next week.
12. GEORGIA (3-0) 239 9 - Cold weather is the winner in Athens this weekend.
13. UCLA (4-0) 235 20 - Would have been nice to see them play someone other than Kentucky 3X.
14. WASHINGTON (5-0) 232 15 - Nebraska was their biggest challenge, but I liked what I saw. I'm biased since this is my alma mater. :)
15. TEXAS A&M (3-2) 228 13 - They took down Arizona and Stanford, but lost to BYU and NW'ern.
16. (tie) MICHIGAN (4-0) 211 17 - Beat Louisiana Tech twice and LSU once. All 1 run games. Beat up Penn St.
16. (tie) OKLAHOMA ST (4-1) 211 8 - Dropped 1 to Houston. Next two weekends will be a good show on what they have.
18. KENTUCKY (1-3) 203 12 - Dropped 3 to UCLA, but rallied to beat Pacific by 1 in the 7th.
19. TEXAS (5-0) 195 19 - Won by a total score of 60-0!
20. (tie) LSU (2-2) 106 22 - Split with Penn St. Lost to MI and beat Louisiana Tech.
20. (tie) NEBRASKA (3-3) 106 21 - Beat Arizona, ID St. & Cal St. Northridge. Lost to UW, OR St & GA Tech.
22. HOUSTON (2-0) 72 18 - Beat N. Texas and Sam Houston St.
23. GEORGIA TECH (4-1) 62 24 - Great showing with wins over Arizona, OR St, Cal Poly and Neb. Lost to San Diego St.
24. UL LAFAYETTE (3-0) 52 25 - Next week will be tougher for the Ragin Cajuns.
25. NOTRE DAME (0-0) 40 23 - Idle

ASU and Arizona will fall. ASU...not as much. AZ should drop off of the top 25, but we know that won't happen with this storied program. UW should rise a bit after an impressive performance. Texas and GA Tech should also move up after good weekends. OR will also drop. It will be interesting to see what happens to Texas A&M.

Ga got a pretty nice transfer in Tess Sito from Cleveland State.

2. ALABAMA (4-0) 438 3 - No surprises here as Bama still doesn't travel west. Next week will be a better test. You always hear the same old remark on this one " They dont have to " Would love to see the SEC take it more west coast and see tougher play early .

And, of course, Notre Dame....the most overrated of all overrated teams in any sport.
Isnt that the truth. Its amazing what your sports tv revenue can generate. Their following is almost fanatical. I look for them to struggle on that list.

Cal is pretty much a Monster waiting to pounce on just about anyone walking in the room.

The big 10 teams ................ really........... other than the Maze and blue of Mich. Softball in the big ten is pretty much mid major level.
