Do you coach softball?

It's very unfortunate that things like this happen. Personally, I am now entering my 7th season as a dad coach and have not had any issues to speak of. We have had a very successful run. That said, I have friends in other organizations that have had the 'dad coach issues' we often read about on these sites. They are real, and I get it. But what i find ironic is that many of these 'non dad coach' parents pull the exact same stunts. But I guess since they are not coaches, they can simply do whatever they want and not worry about who it hurts in the process. Damn the torpedoes...
And of course, every situation is different so I shouldn't paint with too broad of a brush. I understand loyalty is a 2 way street. Our situation was rougher on me than my daughter. I took it personal. My daughter had the same coach in 8u rec, 8u-10u-12u travel and was always one of the top few players on the team. We didn't win much. But we added a few really solid players(which I personally made happen) and things were looking up. I felt all along there was plan in place to get the team where it needed to be. But my daughters coach of 5-6 years had other plans I suppose. That was the tough part. Our loyalty to what I thought was a long term plan/process turned out to be a kick in the teeth. There was an opportunity and the coach took it. But I think had I just been told what was going to happen beforehand, I wouldn't have been bitter about it. We would've simply moved on.
I know things usually have a way of working out for the best though. My daughter is on a solid 14u team of girls with college softball aspirations and some good coaches.
...there are some 'dad coaches' that do try their best to be as fair as possible and truly care about the players on their teams (all of the players).
