Do not walk the batter lol.
Work on skills for the future. How does a 16u team defend this.

Any other options to prevent the extra base? It's a real thorn in my side.
If a coach knows what they are doing, throwing the ball to first wont stop the runner from taking 2nd. All you have to do is run straight through first base and make a wide looping arc to 2nd. The base runner is not liable to be put out until they actually make a move toward 2nd.Do you also have five run rule per inning?
Throw the ball to First immediately.

Great point about stealing 2nd on next pitch.Haaahaaa
If the ball is there an out can be made. The ball can be there much before the runner.
After all the first baseman is not locked to staying on first base.
Really there's the next issue of having a runner on first (if they're held there) with runners now on first and third is that
High probability on the next pitch the runner's going to take off to second base anyway so there's the long throw or whatever needs to happen with that
Seriously if accurate throws can't be made in a game that has restrictions of when players can score and run rule limitations. Go for the appropriate plays and see if it works. At least the players will be trained to get the ball to second if they need to or the ball to first if they want to.
The runner on 3rd can't score in this situation anyway.
HAAAA what? Is your F3 going to chase the runner down the first baseline past first base and tag them when they make a move to 2nd? The batter/runner is legally able to overrun 1st base without liability to be put out, even on a walk. Until that runner makes an attempt for 2nd F3 cant do anything so unless you chase the runner down the line, no, throwing the ball to first does nothing. And once you get into normal rules where the runner at 3rd can advance, throwing to first never activates the lookback rule, so the runner at 3rd can lead off and hang off the base all they want. Get the ball back to the pitcher as far back in the circle as they can get and then you have a much shorter throw to 2nd once the runner is committed to going.Haaahaaa

Was laughing at thinking of watching these youngsters running passing first base by 10 ft and taking giant rounding running path to second. Because the first baseman has the ball.HAAAA what?
