How to Prevent the Extra Base?

If your best player the P can't throw it 40 feet to second to your second best player SS you just can't prevent it. Either work on it or just give it to them.

If you can’t get a girl out going to second on a walk with the catcher, then you don’t have much of a chance of throwing them out stealing either. So they are really only getting second base one pitch early. I really wouldn’t worry about it. I would focus on other skills that will help the team improve, until they are advanced enough to throw them out at second.

Sadly there are too many that think they "discovered" something and will so you either need to be prepared to defend it or let it go.
