Fielder Placement

For 8u and 10u where is the optimal placement of fielders? We do All inside the baseline, 3b 10steps in and 1b 5 steps in. We change a bit depending on game situation and base runners.

keep the corners in and shade everyone to the right side. most balls are hit to the right side so keep them ready

we see some hard hit balls, so i have my 3rd base and ss play one step inside (unless we're playing the bunt, of course) and first base a step or two in. 2nd always stays a step behind the line. if we're playing a really hard-hitting team everyone stays behind the line.

agree with fast[pitch, especially at 10U. I also see too many 10U teams playing their outfielders just behind the dirt. This turns a normal hit to the outfield into a homer...
