If I said to stay tall or stay behind the ball it would be the same result usually. Functionality matters. The truth of the matter is the stretch will only activate against a resisting spine or head. You could have a core contraction out front but that would be late wo any depth, so what’s the point?

The spine or head works back against the swing. That creates side bend and an on time core contraction. Extension then rotation.

The head works back because of hip extension.

The action of the head is a direct result of the dominant eye going to the anticipated point of contact. It is not physically possible to see the ball movement the last 10 feet or so.

Nah. Plenty of hip extension here. No lateral tilt or spine extension w these swings so there is no depth or proper decel. Spine extension stops the upper half. It’s really not debatable. Shoulder tilt happens way before hip extension. It’s fundamental in every sport. Ever see a pitcher extend the spine before they throw? Same thing. Basketball. Hockey. Power lifting. Track and field etc etc.

Rotation needs something to rotate around. That’s the spine. Not the hips.
