Hitting out of a 45 helps with the hands controlling and feeling the barrel.

This one has been helping too . In order to take full advantage of the hands, the forearms and shoulders must be in proper posture.

I just don’t understand how the hands can be along for the ride when you have to torque the barrel to accelerate it. Makes no sense to me.

So we apply a ‘running start’ so we can turn the body to deliver the torqued barrel?? The hands and arms have to be apart of the delivery system at this point. Why even torque the barrel otherwise?

W this is a great topic, I’ve been trying to educate my players hands from day 1, I called it hand eye coordination but I love educating the hands .

Educating the hands to me is more about their function within the task. Not spatial awareness. But I get what you’re saying.

Isn't it both? It can't just be the "turn" since that would be spinning. The hands have to ride connection for some brief period of time. "The hands are along for the ride" was Englishbey's position. He is right when he made comments that the hands can't think for themselves and they can't move themselves through space.
