thanks for writing down the unwritten rules for us.

Sorry my comment wasn't up to your standards. I guess you read my comment before getting some coffee. Mark the topics you don't want comments on and i'll stay away. Otherwise, your responses such as this are just immature and worthless to the conversation.

Success in softball is very dependent on emotion. The happier girls are the better they play. A close knit selfless team plays better than a bunch of talented individuals. The enthusiasm demonstrated on the field after a hit is intended to create the energy/emotion for more success from the team. It is one of the great things about softball!

And land mines. I think that would bring some excitement to the game.
If you want to add some excitement to golf, pull some strings and get me on the PGA. I guarantee I will provide excitement. Things like, how did he get himself into that situation and holy cow, how did he hit that ball. You would not believe the lengths I can go to make a round of golf "fun."

Before I had my hip replaced and had to take off a couple of years, I was a 4 handicap. Now, I have to yell fore.

Here is a question for folks here...kinda curious about this.

Ok, its ok the stand on first screaming, yelling jumping up and down after a hit. Would it be ok for the pitcher
to scream and yell or jump up and down after a strikeout of a batter or for the defensive team to scream and yell
after a strikeout?

Whats peoples thoughts on that?

I think its a generational thing really. Me personally, Im all for bat flips on a HR, fist pumps after a strikeout, and doing things to get your team pumped. A game can totally flip around when it comes to a team that feeds off teammates momentum and energy.

Im definitely in the Spurrier camp when he said something along the lines of, "If you dont like us scoring, then its your job on defense to stop us". If anyone doesnt watch Trevor Bauers youtube channel, you are really missing out bc he actually talks about this quite a bit. Th whole "unwritten rules" thing is such BS in my opinion (and his). Unless they are written, ITS NOT A RULE so therefor these "unwritten rules" dont actually exist.

Dont like someone cheering after giviing up a base hit? Pitch better next time.
Dont like someone flipping a bat after a HR, work harder to not hang the ball over the plate.
Dont like the pitcher giving a fist pump and yelling after striking you out? Do better next time up to bat.
Dont want someone to blast a ball out of the park on a 3-0 count while up by 10 runs? Dont lob a meatball up there to get a strike.

I could go on and on here but I'll stop. To answer your question, I think its totally acceptable to react that way as long as its not directed to the other team. There are certain chants I dont allow our team to do solely bc its directed at the other team players instead of our teammates.

I'd 10 to one rather watch softball players getting excited than watching a football game and the antics displayed after a routine tackle.

When it comes down to it, isnt a routine tackle pretty equivalent to getting a base hit for a single? Or maybe the hitter who gets on base bc of a fielders choice?

When a guy makes a good tackle I have no issue with them doing their happy dance. What I do think is over the top is the guy that is the 5th defensive player to the pile and then jumps up and starts flexing like he actually did something :D
