Here is a question for folks here...kinda curious about this.

Ok, its ok the stand on first screaming, yelling jumping up and down after a hit. Would it be ok for the pitcher
to scream and yell or jump up and down after a strikeout of a batter or for the defensive team to scream and yell
after a strikeout?

Whats peoples thoughts on that?

Umm yep LOL. This goes to the whole in MLB concerning bat flipping etc. IMO. Pitchers can show enthusiasm and scream etc. But a batter hits a homer, you better just trot around the bases. To me its simply ridiculous. 🤷‍♂️ :ROFLMAO:

Probably doesn't have any application here, but I think the difference between Softball and baseball at least in college. For women that is their MLB, that the highest point they can go. So I feel the enthusiasm is much higher for them.

seen tons of teams gather in the IF after a strikeout to all high five the Pitcher. seen plenty of Catchers spkke the ball emphatically after a K to end a half inning. seen plenty of teams mob a fielder who made an inning ending play as they head toward dugout.

No, not talking about congratulating a player after a great play to end an inning. Catcher spiking a ball after the inning isnt anything.

I mean, if a pitcher were to jump up and down and scream after a strikeout...would that be ok?

Again, im not trolling like the OP...hahaha. Actually curious if people would think that would be too much and embarassing
the hitter.

I think the bottom line on this topic is that while everyone is certainly entitled to their opinion on how someone else should act, I don't think any of the actual players on the field care if someone likes it or not.

They are going to do them and you can do you (watch or turn the channel). I think it is that simple on this one.

most players get one or two hits a game. most pitchers will have several Ks, might be part of it.

See, I have no problem with bat flips...and I have no problem if a pitcher fist pumps after a strikeout.

I think we can have a civilized discussion on it no matter what
