I would have said shoulder rotation plane but yeah. Tricky saying torso given how Manny sometimes swung.

body tilt will vary based on pitch location but the idea is that to transfer the most power you want as close to a 90 degree angle between the lead arm and the torso as you can get.

JJ, just so that I can be sure of 90 degree angle do you have a pic? I am sure Bass does.

Sorry Mark. I am sure I am not expressing myself correctly. What I mean is right at the time the bat is making contact with the ball. What angle is your body in? I realize that because of where the ball is located the angle might b different but for a ball down the middle of the plate. I know you don't want to b to open. I know this is a lot of similarity betweeen pitching and hitting. Should your stride foot be 45 degrees? The body 45 degrees? Hopefully, that will be clearer?
