My oldest DD is about to turn 11 and is starting her 1st year of 12U travel ball. At a clinic with college players she's gone to and every college player that has come to work with her team, they teach her to hold her glove hand to her face when finishing a throw. They call this vomit glove. Why do softball players do this. Why differ from a baseball throw?

Does this look like the 'vomit glove'?

That's a new one for me. I cant even find a single photo on google showing someone throwing a ball and pulling their glove up to their face.

It's players from the University of Washington and Oregon State that taught her this term "vomit glove" and I see it all the time in travel ball and NCAA, I'm just not sure why.

Maybe it's some sort of 'check point' that the thrower tucked the rear elbow. A guess.
