Around here jv has the same rules as varsity. When varsity plays at home against a team, the jv travels to that school to play their jv team.

That’s how ours is too, JV and varsity "mirror" each other. I'm pretty sure the freshman schedule was usually the same as varsity, but not sure if freshman games were timed, or on different fields.

Encourage your coach to do 3 runs and swap if pitching isn’t great. We do that and typically play 5 full innings. They can set that at the umpires meeting pregame

Why doesn't the JV play on the JV field? Or a different day if there's only 1 field?

are you telling me that high schools where you live have two softball fields? A V and a JV field? That's nice!

You have 4 softball coaches so that 2 can coach JV while the other 2 coach Varsity?

Umps need to move the game along. Hustle in, hustle out. As soon as the pitcher takes the mound and throws one pitch you can hear some dad yelling, "balls in, coming down." I don't know who he is but I like him.

He's definitely not a pitcher's dad because only one warm up is not a good idea.

Well thats a little exaggerated. But umps striking up small talk with a parent or coach and are oblivious to the fact that the pitcher has thrown 6 or 7 pitches drives me up a wall.

Our national team pitchers frequently only throw 1 warm up between innings.
