This could be very good for softball IF successful. Lowering costs and opening up more opportunities to compete within their state or region - sounds like a winner to me. I would be a proponent of weekend tournaments taking a back seat to a season long league.

I am glad that Cali has been taking notes from Texas. Texas teams have been trying to put something like this together for many years. The current situation made it possible.

Check out their website. They didnt just take notes they copied word for word. http://cflfastpitch.com/

Just wondering who keeps the stats or who does the score keeping? We all know the Jenny really doesn't bat .411 or have only 2 wild pitches but her mom keeps the book. LOL

This should be an interesting power/money play on PGF. And
No doubt they got the idea from Texas.

Midwest is trying to do the same.

99% of kids go to college in the region they are from. Why travel all over the country or at least why do so much of it.

This is great for teams in Cali and Texas. States that have a nice group of top teams. Other states are working on doing the same.
Problem is that in states like PA where there is 2 maybe 3 legit 18u gold teams this wouldn't work. You would end up playing the same 2 teams over and over. Below that tier of 2 or 3 teams the competition is weak and that's why we travel. If a team doesn't want to play top talent then go for it. It's a great idea.

This is one reason why these same org/people starting hosting their own invite only events.
And also did this thru TCS creating a seperate/distinguishing level of competition.

What happened with this?
Still on the table? Trash canned?
Well there's so much money on the table for all involved. It's a tough project to launch. Ive worked in the exploratory stages

Here's this big issue. If you do this and charge families 150 per kid. Something cheap like a rec league, then organizations look like a scam. Theyre not going to join. Pretty simple. If it goes well and works for recruiting organizations look like a bigger scam.....

It's a long road to hoe. Sadly parents have been brainwashed for decades in softball as well as baseball

In another hit to this idea for teams in the Northeast it is starting to look like the Northeast Division of the Heartland league has been scrapped or at least it is no longer listed on the website. My guess is some of the power players in the Northeast didn't like how this was going to cut into their business model.

Even worse quarantine rules may make it difficult or impossible for DD's team to make the normal trips to Virginia, Georgia, Tennessee, and Alabama this fall.

BT do you know where your DD's team will be playing yet?
