Breaking News: California Fastpitch League Announced… Will Provide a “Collegiate-Type” Event Structure & Championship Series Starting This Fall - Extra Inning Softball

The new California Fastpitch League was announced on Monday and will begin in the fall to promote top club softball play with teams around California.

Those names have consistantly drawn top talent to the teams they coach and produced top tier performances.
It makes sense they are involved!

structure and championship series to add purpose of play, excitement and
opportunities for all players across the state"

From the above it sounds like "post PGF" league play for the fall. I wonder if the other Texas FL, Mid West, etc leagues are focusing on fall or trying for something sooner.

Very interesting idea. On the surface, I would consider it as superior to traditional travel ball. It will be interesting to see how it works.

Playing 2 out of 3 series?

I hope so.. maybe not all games, but nearing the championships the format of best out of three is AMAZING. DD got a chance to play best of 3 in a championship and it was awesome.

I am glad that Cali has been taking notes from Texas. Texas teams have been trying to put something like this together for many years. The current situation made it possible.
