Should batter stay in box on a PB?

No interference was called, the issue was my direction being incorrect or not.

If there are runners on 1B and or 2B and there is a PB, if batter stays in the box and squats down low (like a pitcher might when F5 throws to 1B) wouldn't that be a good way to stay out of the way and comply with the 3 rules listed above?

Again, anyone would have to see the play to make that determination. The point of the admonition by the umpire and others posts is that the batter's box is not a safe haven for the batter which seems to be what you were telling your player.

To translate MTR's response - Yes, as long as its not a play at the plate

The best move is usually for a RHB to step over into the LHB box. A LHB can stay in the box. In almost all the cases the runner will be coming through the RHB box which is where the call will be made.
