Here is a simple evaluation tool.
It is something that parents and players can use to look at their own skill sets and developmental level.
It is also something for coaches to consider about how they are picking up players to build their team.

Pretty much self explanatory,
1. Are you a player that already serves a purpose/starter?
2. Are you a player thats a project need to develop befor starting?

Certainly can happen how parents/player/coaches see a player
can be the gap in whats happening with role on a team.

Good question to ask befor joining a team.
Good perspective for a coach to offer feedback picking up a player.

Simply to help communicate where players fit in...

In a time of tryouts, a reminder,
Very important~ for people to understand where a new coach may see a player fitting in on the team.

I'm bringing this up because watching players at tryouts and hearing how parents perceive their own kid on a team and what the travel ball coaches goals are just might be farther apart or closer together then what people imagine.

Good to know at the beginning of a new team how does the coach see the player,
as a project or does the coach see player with a purpose?

Here is another word I'm adding to the assessment tools.
It is the word Problem.

When coaches are assessing~

That could be paying attention to skills, additionally body language and information shared. Information that could be a bunch of added conversation that may have otherwise been unnecessary to share. Or shared in a better way! Like talking about the negative information from leaving your past team. 😉Can be lots of Clues within those stories!

Suggest for everybody to use assessment tools to try and find the best fit! Unfortunately at times have to avoid certain situations. Because after all a problem is well.... a problem.
