My DD has the smallest Rip It helmet they make and its too big. Would like to try using extra padding, but not sure which will work or if any. Any help is greatly appreciated.

You can get a fit kit for the helmets. We've had to order or get from our local sports store. Some are universal and some helmet brand specific

We buy "fit kits" for our Worth helmets that are basically extra padding that goes around the ear holes and top liner. I am sure you could make it work for a Rip-It helmet, but it may not have a custom fit appearance.

You can buy PVC pipe cement in the hardware store; we've found that it works very well for securing padding to the helmet. A chin strap helps - the kind that secures with a chin cup. When our DD was 11, the chin cup was the way to go. You can buy chin straps in the sporting goods store, sometimes with the football stuff if you can't find it with the softball gear.

Check eBay. There are a number of companies selling fit kits (including universal kits) that might be helpful.
