My brother-in-law produced this video for DD#1's team using Elements and Photoshop:

There are many (some including easy slow motion, freeze frame, as well as multiple audio/video source overlays) but the biggest benefit is that Adobe Premier is better designed to handle the large high res videos that movie maker isn't. Don't get me wrong, movie maker does a great job of cutting videos down to size, but just isn't designed to do large video productions.
