If how you state this is actually how it happened, your umpire must have been drinking between innings. Both runs should have counted.

As stated in the other thread. If the umpire called catcher inference, then that means the bat hit the catcher's glove and you get your choice, result of the play, or the batter gets first and everyone who is forced moves up a base. Which is what you said was called and done.

If the ump meant obstruction and the bat never hit the glove, then your ump messed up the whole thing. BTW in my opinion, always take the run, never chose to remove a run from the board and try again.
