Any parent of a pitcher needs to download the free app called PITCH COUNTER.

There's a feature where you pick your sport and how far away the mound is from the plate. You set it for your girl, and then you:

1. Tap and hold the button when your DD lets go of the ball
2. Let go of the button when the ball crosses the plate
3. The app then gives you the speed of the pitch

My DD, who is 11, pitching from 40 feet, hit 119 miles per hour on her first pitch.

Make sure you send that to ExtraInnings so that she can be a top 100 player next year. Stats not necessary

Time for the annual myth of the 12 yr old who throws 60 and the 12 year olds that can hit a ball 250’.

The first one I see do either will be the first I see.

I’m watching an SEC game and both starting pitchers are throwing 61-63. Just for a point of reference.

Pgf Nationals 12u will have a few who throw 58-60.

But will you believe the speed epuiptment timing them?
There will probably be more than one person timing them.
So theres that to add merit.

I’ve seen a few high level Pgf 12 u teams where pitchers are throwing mid-high 50s, but I’ve learned over the years to laugh off at the dads at every tournament who talk about the 12U girl they saw last weekend who was throwing 60.
The girls throwing 55 and up at 12U often struggle to get to 60. They are the ones that develop fast and the trajectory of pitching won’t be linear. 55 and 12 doesn’t always mean 63 at 17. Those last few mph take a lot of work to achieve.
