Agree that sometimes the mental side is the problem, along with parents being way too egotistical about their kids skills, however my dd had a cf that went dead in April of last year, and multiple people tried to tell her that it was her swing that was causing the ball to go a max of 10 ft. I...
My dd likes the cf and the whisper a lot as a slapper-she switch hits for power from the right side and says she prefers the whisper for that purpose but likes the cf better for bunting. Just her opinion though and she definitely has some interesting ones soooo 😂
Just wanted to talk about my dds work ethic. She had ankle surgery recently, and hasn’t played in a game/team practice for 5 months. Every single day of that, she has practiced some part of her game. Hitting while sitting on a bucket, short hops from knees, snaps+ks for pitching, even learning...
I believe DD is deciding between an a2000 or a mizuno- any opinions? For the a2000, what material would be recommended? Spin control or no spin control?
Also, there are many different things that can affect a players ability/performance on these metrics. My dd has severe exercise induced asthma, has had multiple ankle, knee, and hip injuries/surgeries, and is a power hitter 1b/pitcher. Does it seem probable she is running a 6 minute mile?
Follow up question- any advice for tryouts? She won’t be able to do much, maybe throwing, pitching snaps, and grounders from knees. Looking at a level teams, not sure the best way to get her on a good team. (current team is moving up)
I think that A teams are related to 1 pitchers, 2:defense, 3: smart offense. A level pitchers have movement, accuracy/control, and some speed. Defense should be consistent and have good situational awareness. Offenses should have skill, but also must understand situations and baserunning.
Yeah that glove was absolutely terrible! She got it at around 11 and hated it almost immediately. I’m not sure where rawlings went wrong with that one ?
She currently is in a boot after ankle surgery, and I haven’t gotten a lot of good video recently (stupid fences ?) I will dig and try to find one. It is definitely only the spike on the top right of her drag foot, directly under the toe guard on the ringors it is almost nothing at this point.
She has been injured a lot, so that is probably why the longer time. They probably wore down in about 30-40 innings of pitching (she has turfs that are used for lessons and a good amount of games)
Yeah she will definitely work to break it in, but she hasn’t liked the Rawlings gloves very much in the past. She had a liberty advanced that was absolutely hated, and it was a terrible glove ?. She has longer fingers, so any insight on the fit of this one?
What is the best glove for a 15yr old, very dedicated 1st baseman (rht)? Looking for one to last until college. Currently using a coaches old one, it’s in rough shape though. She has a regular mizuno glove and loves it, so if the mizuno 1st baseman’s glove is good, we would try it.
One of the most annoying things I’ve heard is when a girl crushes a ball piped down the middle, belt high, and the announcer says “that’s right in her wheelhouse” like no duh ?
