Agreed CF8 and CF9 are both really hot bats. I got DD CF8 for $200 off ebay heavily used. Much hotter bat than the CFX (store bought).

I don't think you can get a new kid for $400...

I don't know man, there are times I would pay somebody $400 to take my 9 year old DD ( I kid..she is wonderful and too much like me..which is the problem sometimes)

There was guy advertising a Ghost for $375 on local softball facebook page. I asked him why is asking higher than retail? He told me to get off his post if I am not interested. Ha. I replied that he was trying to rip off people and this community is very small.

I think sometimes the bigger problem can be when the KID thinks it's the bat. It can be really hard to get them to have confidence in anything else, once they take a liking to a particular bat. My DD is a prime example. She had an old dirty, ratty -11 CF8 that was a hand-me-down forever and she's really struggling to adjust to anything else (but I'm not spending new bat money on bat that I don't know the history on and no warranty, so it's out of the question).

Agree that sometimes the mental side is the problem, along with parents being way too egotistical about their kids skills, however my dd had a cf that went dead in April of last year, and multiple people tried to tell her that it was her swing that was causing the ball to go a max of 10 ft. I know she generally has a good swing, so I bought her a new bat and the very first at bat with that new bat she hit a home run so I guess sometimes it is the equipment

My DD was offered $600 each for her 34' 2018 Ghosts. She declined. One ended up cracking a few months later... Still has a 34" CF8 Insane. I'd be curious what those are going for. We had 2 CF5's in -10. I regret selling those...
