No I would say Bo's swing is staying back (more connected I guess), while Vlad his hands are coming forward more.. Do you know what pitches these were and the count ?

I find if you leave a kid to their own devices. you won’t get quite what you’re looking for. flying front side, back hip turn, pushing leg, casting hands, collapsed back side Etc. etc. But if that works for you more power to you.

did I offend? Was not my intent. I was merely saying I cannot just get a kid into a good posture and launch position and say hit the ball. It’s a bit more than that for me. force production happens precisely at that moment and isn’t an automatic filtration system for many.

care to share how your instruction leads to an ’easy launch’ without leaks or interruptions? I am truly interested.

FP26, You know as well as I do who promotes swinging (ttb) from behind a corner off one leg and who Mike tries to follow..

Here are a couple examples.

Here is AJ blowing past the corner from 2 legs and pushing it according to the HLP pattern.

Looks like Judge is swinging at an inside pitch.

Barrel arcs more behind Bichette but it kind of has to from where it starts. Hand path looks similar for both to me although Bichette does seem to stay “connected” a bit longer but the pitch locations are different

No, I'm really not interested. I've been down that road all too often, and really don't feel like dealing with the drama anymore. Not directed at you... All I meant by my comment is that I really don't talk about "hands direct the body" or "body directs the hands" or any other philosophical or theoretical concept. I simply work towards getting the hitter into a good position to launch at the proper time. As someone else mentioned, mechanics are a foundation to build upon, but without timing, approach, and several other factors, it is just lipstick on a pig...

I still find the discussion interesting. I just don't think most young hitters are interested in the discussion. They just want to hit.

This ^^^ for me is the goal. The transition into the actual launch is moot if those beginning things aren't there in proper timing. Good post
