My 12u DD made the switch last spring. It took her most of the spring TB season to get comfortable with the change. The main improvement I seen almost immediately was the increase in velocity. She picked up 8mph over 2 1/2 months. She struggled with accuracy for a pretty good while but not to the point where she was wild. I think that frustrated her the most because she was extremely accurate pitching H/E but only because she was pushing the ball through her release. Almost like she was handing the ball to the catcher. At the end of Spring we decided to let her take a break for a month and hit it hard again afterwards. We are now about 2 months back into it and everything has just clicked. She is pitching with way more accuracy and has picked up another 3mph. I can assure you it was well worth the time investment. Sometimes you have to take one step backwards to be able to take 10 forwards.
