Here we are mid November in the northeast, thinking softball is done for the season, but lo and behold!, a nice weekend is in the forecast and DD's coach has scheduled a double header Sunday. DD has made plans that day to be with her friends who she hasn't seen in awhile and she is looking forward to it. DD has never missed a scheduled game or practice this whole Summer/Fall season (18U). This get together was planned a few weeks ago when she thought November 22 would be a safe day to do so. She's leaning towards going with her friends and skipping the games, which I have no problem with. But now she's stressing what if they don't have enough girls (12 girls on roster, one hasn't showed up for the last two weeks of games or practices, one has been treating a concussion from a month ago) If they only have 8, she would feel like she's letting the team down. I don't think she should feel that way at all, she's missed quite a few get together with friends for softball. What would your DD do?
