Some umps are just awesome

As a scorekeeper, I've worked with many, many umpires over the years. I've had good experiences with pretty much all of them and I've learned a ton. After games I've approached the umpires to clarify certain rulings for my scorebook and they've always been very nice and helpful - happy to share their knowledge and taking a genuine interest in going over the book. A few of our girls can really hit the stuffing out of the ball and I've received many nice umpire's compliments on behalf of the team.
