lol whats that mean exactly riseball. but in reading the others posts gonna tweak her bend down and not have her bend so much. I think everything else looks good, and as for the pushback gonna have her pc really look at her to see what might be causing the discomfort actually I shouldn't of said her back its her lower right back muscle.(when she throws a ton practicing the push back technique). thanks guys for the feedback.

It's not the push back drill causing lower back pain. It's the bend at the waist.
I tend to agree here as well
For me, I'd like to see her stay behind her front leg more. She is getting her center of gravity over her front foot... this makes a push back null and void, and her power is being generated by her upper body rather than the legs.
Eliminate the big bow, and keep the front leg out front and pull into the core AGAINST the front leg.

From 10U-14U my DD increased her velocity @ 5 MPH per year with very little change in her mechanics. Just wanted to point this out for all the bucket parents who think a minor change in their DD's pitching mechanics has miraculously increased her velocity. Now finding an extra 5 MPH at 16U and beyond is a challenge!

My DD pretty much plateaued at 65 when she was 16-17 yo. Now as a sophomore in college she finally hit 70. The last 5mph had little to do with mechanics and was all about strength training, nutrition, and mindset.

JAD - I have seen the video of your DD and you can look forward to similar results when she gets to the next level. :)

my DD is 12u and is hitting 54-55 consistently now after we have been working on the brush interference and trying to get that correct. but I haven't had her do any push back due to one of the other posts where the DD had a broken back which my DD displayed similar symptoms. although she has increased her speed a cpl mph with the brush interference we are seeing significant brusing on her pitching side of her hip. we know we need to tweek that a little bit but as for the push back technique I believe she would gain another 3-5 mph or so if she did it and she wants to reach that 60mph mark so bad! but I wont let her do it for now she's 12u still growning and IMO shes pitching hard enough for now so we are consentrating on core workouts. am I wrong or what advice to you have?I should mention that her back doesn't bother her what so ever not pushing back but when she does do it after about 50 throws or so it starts to hurt.?

You have one of the best pitching coaches in the midwest. What does he say?

54-55 at 12U in games is well above average. Don't worry about 60, it'll come as her body develops.

after last nights pitching practice, I talked to him (pc) and he agreed with what most on here are saying so we did some testing with and without bending to come to the conclusion that it didn't make one bit of difference in her speed. gunned she hit 54mph 7-10 times and 55 the other 3 pushing back she hit 57mph 8-10 times and 58 twice. so we are just going to see if the back stops bothering her practicing by throwing a 100 pitches and see how it goes.

Thank you for the kind words! My DD seems to have plateaued @ 65 MPH at 16U too. We have been working on her riseball and change up in the off season.
