Depends on the sanction you are playing (ASA, USFA, USSSA, PGF, ect), but if the pitcher is just swapping positions, but is staying in the game, and there are no changes to the batting order, there are no limits to the number of switches. If the pitcher is coming out of the game for a sub, and re-enters, I think she is only allowed to come back one time.

Was y'all (for you yankees - you all) watching our game this week in Walterboro?

My daughter was starting pitcher but switched with 1st base twice that game, never left so all was considered legal.

Please do not confuse "A pitcher returning to pitch" with re-entry. They are two completely different rules and really have nothing to do with each other.

Some codes (like NCAA) only allow starters to re-enter the game.

With respect to a pitcher returning to pitch, some codes allow a pitcher to move to different position and return as pitcher an unlimited number of times per inning (like NCAA and ASA). If the pitcher does return in the same inning, she does not get warm-up pitches.

Other codes (like NFHS and PONY) only allow a pitcher to return to pitch once per inning. They don't give warm-up pitches to a pitcher returning in the same inning.
