So Cal
My 9yo DD managed to injure her finger playing basketball at school yesterday afternoon. A trip to the ER revealed a small bone chip and a possible fracture in her left index finger. This will put her out of action for at least 2-3 weeks. Her last game of the Fall season is Sunday. She's very bummed.

I wish your DD a speedy recovery!

My 6’3” DD gave up basketball this season to focus on softball. The HS coach wasn't pleased, but it’s just too risky.

bone chip? x-ray? when I was a kid we called it a jammed finger and moved on. My fingers look like Joe Cocker's when he sings so maybe that wasn't a good medical strategy.imagesCA5LI3HB.jpg

I feel your pain, JJ.

My DD has been brave and tough through this, so far, with only a few whimpers. I told her this morning that, after this experience with pain, the bar is now set higher. I don't want to see any more tears or melt-downs over a tiny scratch.

Teaching moments... ;)

Clearly, basketball is a dangerous sport. Just say no!

But it was my daughter!
