Another Update-
We just came back from seeing the specialist I mentioned in the earlier post and he says it is a classic case of Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. he was very nice, very informative and was able to get my wife (the skeptical OR nurse) to buy into it. Unfortunately it means(2) surgeries, with 6 week recuperation after each. will wreak havoc on the spring of her senior year and summer ball. we'll see what happens, we may be going in for #1 on 2/27.
thank you all for your help and advice. The hands changing color/swelling/numbness was the thing that made it clear. before that, I can't blame the doctors for not being able to diagnose it.
. Please have your DD reach out to the player whose blog I shared on here...she is the NICEST person, and I know she will share her insights. Best of luck to your DD
.We are still trying to figure out my daughters other hand and forarm issues. She has numbness across the top of the right forarm and weakness in the right hand. The grip test right hand was 11lbs and the left hand was 26lbs. That's a big difference for being right hand dominant.
