Basketball and Softball are very different from a training standpoint. Basketball is continuous running and requires a lot of repititions to get you to a level where you can compete. Sprints, line drills, suicides what ever you call them should be something that is done consistently throughout the whole practice. If you can't play basketball huffing and puffing you probably can't play basketball. Basketball is a sport made up of short sprints, change direction, then spring again. In softball conditioning is important but we do not do sprints unless they are a part of softball drill. We only have the girls together a couple nights a week and we need to maximize what we get accomplished.
