Don't get me started...Of course the alternative is to stay home and play. Which I'm sure wouldnt be a problem

Central Kansas here. I live here and didn't even know there was a new association until I read this thread.
DD played mostly U trip and ASA when she was younger, ASA started faltering and at 12U it was mostly U Trip. By 14U U trip started watering things down and going stay to play. At that point we said why not travel? If it's stay to play it costs us the same for DD to play in KC or Wichita as anywhere else. Price of gas is really the only difference, and a couple hours on the road.
DD has traveled from 60 miles to 175 miles away to play for different teams over the years. Up until 14U it wasn't a big deal, but after that in order to play decent competition you had to find a team that was willing to travel IMO. In the last 2 years DD has played one tournament in the state (showcase), everything else is at least one state away if not several and is Triple Crown or PGF.
