D1 Rule for playing during winter break

Does anyone know the rules for a D1 softball player, playing with a summer travel team during winter break in a tournament?
School is not in session, softball is not in season, ...seems like it would be legal as long as the coach doesn't mind.
Anyone know for sure or have any thoughts on this?

Seems like the player should be talking to her college coach and compliance department. They will be able to tell her for sure.

I would like to say coaches discretion but with D1 you never know they have a ton of rules. Ask coach. Better safe than sorry

DD summer team had 2 freshman D1 players last year, play for them, her school coach will not allow her players to play summer ball as long as they are attending classes, during the summer when class is out it is OK. Her summer coach begged the college coach to let her play in a November tournament and the coach said no.

The problem is that only leaves about a month DD can play summer ball, playing for a month maybe not worth it that is up to DD.
