The following is an attempt to clarify a few words. The hope being that the use of precise terms will be better received in discussions and not thought of as only belonging to technical posts.
With respect to the arm, the words "pronation" and "supination" describe the particular rotational movement of the forearm (not the upper arm [humerus], but the forearm).
With respect to the arm, the words "external rotation" and "internal rotation" describe the rotation of the upper arm (humerus) within the shoulder socket.
