Not sure where to post this, seeing that I am new. I was recently told by an umpire that my two players that come to the plate and squat are not changing their strike zone (making smaller). He said that he takes it from the natural stance. This is their natural stance. I'm not fully understanding what he means. I know you can't come to the plate and stand tall then when pitch begins...squat. Can anyone help on this.....

Everyone squats a little when they come to bat, the question is are your batters "squatting" far more than a normal batter? As an example, when I was in high school we played a team that had a kid come up to bat and squatted so far his armpits were literally on his knees. That is not a natural batting stance and the umpire should call a strike zone based on the batters real height.
