It is really awful how girls have been taught that they had to swing different. It has added years to the development of the eastern US players.

It wasn't just the girls that were taught that. My boys played that way in HS, too.

Since I started this thread we've had a little debate going on with the coaches and came up with an idea. We decided to take the team for group hitting lessons. Good idea since we also picked up a few new players. Well the hitting coach told me after the first lesson that the baseball and softball swings are the same. The only difference is when to start it because of the difference in the pitching motions. So we'll keep going down the path we're on. Thanks everyone.
