On the other side though … Dack looks defeated before she even stepped in. There is something to be said about playing with energy.

I was really hoping that after all the hangwringing about their celebrating when OU finally won they'd just calmly shake hands with each other and walk back to the locker room. That would've really made some brains melt.

I noticed that after the celebrating, the FSU and OU players all got together.

I was also struck by Patty Gasso's comments about the pressure of expectations weighing down on the OU girls all season and how, after the win, she just felt relief. And why she used Bahl as a pinch runner - something to take her mind out of the circle for a bit.

Granted they were playing the best teams in the country but they didn’t actually play that well in the WCWS. I haven’t seen Jennings hit that poorly since she got there. Best thing that could probably happen for them next year is to lose a game or 2 during the regular season..

I'm of the mind that OU is rapidly becoming the Houston Astros of college softball. Everyone outside of their home city hates them and wants them to fail.

Tell me a dominant team that that doesn’t happen to. Not many people liked the Patriots outside of NE..It’s only natural. If you are rooting for a different team and the same team keeps you from succeeding over and over again the hatred is going to be the result..

I can't. They're just the latest in a long line of teams that people come to hate. Heck, I grew up a Yankee fan. Name me a more hated team than them, outside of their fan base. Maybe the Astros because of the cheating scandal? Oh, and the Cowboys. Everyone hates them...

Part of the issue with me is that with pro sports you get a lot of bandwagon jumpers (when the Sox were doing well we called them Pink Hatters..) that weren’t around when the team wasn’t any good. Not sure that is as prevalent in college sports. I respect a fan, regardless of the team, that has been a fan through thick and thin..I vividly remember watching every Patriots game when they went 1-15…
