Are the E and A sections of the Ghost where you want to be making contact? That is where I have seen most of the Ghost and GA breaks on our team. It seems like you would want to be more near the T and the O.

I guess I've been lucky I've only had one bat break in my years of playing softball (I believe I have a thread on here about the bat. We're waiting for my Biology professor to come in and start class or I'd look for it. I'll add it in an edit). I've heard of girls breaking bats by hitting softballs, ice and slush balls, using them for swords, and hitting metal poles. The couple of times we did do sword-fighting with bats, I used extremely cheap bats or bats old enough I wouldn't have cared if it cracked.
