It seems like since I've hit high school, I've been injured in some form or another. Let me list all the injuries I've had since I've entered high school...
Freshman:
Was in an auto accident and had whiplash (I wore a neck brace afterward), cracked ribs and a broken foot.
In Field Hockey, I tweaked my knee and had a sprained ankle (the other leg, not the foot I broke)
In Basketball I had tendonitis in my right elbow and had jumper's knee.
In Softball I broke my elbow where I needed surgery to repair it
Sophomore:
In field hockey I had more knee and ankle issues
In Basketball I had some issues with elbow tendonitis and the jumpers knee creeped back up. I also had some issues with muscle spasms in my biceps.
I don't think I had any injury issues in softball.
Junior:
From cheerleading, I have had back spasms, knee and ankle issues
From softball, I had a concussion, issues with my back spasming up (a trip or two to the chiropractor cleared that up), aches and pains in my knees and ankles and now two fractured fingers and a fractured hand.
I'm feeling kinda down with all of the injuries I've had plus with our team getting hot within the last few weeks and now I can't play while we're doing so good. I've just kinda gotten into a funk the last few days.
So, how did I get injured this time around...not watching where my hand was while unloading stuff from the cars with two little cousins running around and they decide to slam the passenger side door closed while the hand was in the way of the door. I thought I could play through the injury with my fingers and hand wrapped in ace bandage. But the swelling and redness never went away. I finally went to the walk in clinic, got referred to imaging and an orthopedist. I'm currently wearing a splint and ace bandage and now am waiting to see the orthopedist on Tuesday to hopefully get a cast. Oh joy . Have any of your daughters been this injury prone and how have they made it through it because it seems like I can't stay healthy for an entire season?
